About Us

Safeguarding

Safeguarding information and contacts for pupils, parents and carers.

At Wookey Primary School we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have consistent, effective safeguarding procedures in place to support children, families and staff. All staff and governors receive appropriate training, guidance and support in child protection annually, as well as updates across the year.

We work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will normally discuss any concerns with parents and carers first, unless doing so might place the child at greater risk.

Our Safeguarding Team

Reporting a Concern

Staff record concerns, including observations and conversations, and report them to a safeguarding lead the same day, without conducting their own investigations. Any concern that a member of staff may be unsuitable to work with children should be reported confidentially to a safeguarding lead.

If you have a safeguarding concern, please contact the school office and ask to speak to a safeguarding lead.

Safeguarding is everybody’s business
