Celebration Assembly

Kids with Bricks Club

Every Monday we have our celebration assembly, when we celebrate the successes of the previous week and award 'Stars of the Week' certificates to children in each class.

Today we had some exciting news as part of our assembly as one of our children had won 'Fabretta's Favourite Builder', which is an award selected from all the 'Build of the Week' entries from the many Lego clubs taking place across the country.

As our Lego Club (Kids with Bricks) will hopefully be returning in September, I thought this would be a good opportunity to give you a bit more information about what actually happens at the club:

Stage 1 - The Quick Build

During the start of the club, the children complete a quick build challenge based on the topic running in the scheme of work. They will complete the build within a 10-15 minute timeframe. Mr Anderton and members of the club will then choose their favourite build and upload a screenshot or photo to the Kids With bricks’ website, so everyone around the country can vote.

Stage 2 - Parent and Family Voting!

All schools are displayed on the Kids with Bricks voting page for everyone to vote on! Parents, children and staff are able to go onto their website and vote for our school's build.

Stage 3 - Leaderboard

Points are then awarded by Kids with Bricks, for schools with the most votes, but also their very own Fabretta (the character who leads the builds online) chooses her favourite build and awards the schools points!

Stage 4 - Termly Competition

At the end of each term, Kids with Bricks have a look at the results on the leaderboard. For the school that has gained the most points that term, prizes are sent to all children in the club!

Stage 5 - Yearly Competition

At the end of the academic year, the school in 1st place gets the Kids With Bricks Cup along with a prize for every child in the club. They also send a runner-up prize to every child in the school in 2nd place!
